FG arraigns Borno youth leader Kaigama over terrorism charges

The Federal Government has arraigned the President of the Borno State Youths Association (BOSYA), Samaila Ibrahim Kaigama, before the Federal High Court in Abuja on terrorism-related charges.

Kaigama, who was recently arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS), appeared before Justice Salim Ibrahim on Wednesday.

The case follows remarks Kaigama made during a recent television interview in which he acknowledged having discussions with Boko Haram members over alleged ransom payments for kidnapped victims.

Security sources alleged that the DSS has obtained evidence linking the youth leader to the extortion of families of kidnapping victims.

Following his arraignment, Justice Ibrahim adjourned the matter until September 25, 2026, for the commencement of trial.

The court also ordered that Kaigama remain in DSS custody pending further proceedings.
