A Wednesday morning fire has razed 40 makeshift shelters at the Mafa Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, destroying food supplies and household belongings.
The incident, which occurred at about 11:20 a.m., prompted an immediate response from both the Federal and State Fire Services.
Security patrol teams led by the Mafa Divisional Police Officer were also deployed to manage the crowd and prevent looting.
Firefighters successfully contained the blaze, and no injuries or fatalities were recorded.
Authorities say the value of the damaged property is yet to be determined, while investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
