A Nigerian man has shared his eye-opening experience of working in the United Kingdom, revealing the stark contrast between his professional life abroad and back home.
In a video shared on X by user @Teniola, the man explained that he previously served as a Head of Department (HOD) in Nigeria, enjoying the prestige, comfort, and flexible hours that came with the role.
He recalled that his senior position allowed for a manageable routine, with early mornings rarely required.
But after relocating to the UK, his work life changed dramatically.
He now begins his day as early as 4:30am, describing the schedule as exhausting and difficult to adapt to.
Despite his experience and former senior role in Nigeria, he admitted that starting afresh abroad has been a significant challenge.
He highlighted that many Nigerians who move overseas face similar realities, taking on demanding jobs while striving to rebuild their careers from scratch.
His story has sparked widespread discussion online, with many Nigerians living abroad echoing his sentiments, noting that although salaries may be higher, long hours, heavy workloads, and lifestyle adjustments make the transition far from easy.
