The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday ruled in favour of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje over the leadership crisis rocking the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The appellate court quashed the judgement of the Federal High Court which gave the Senator Ibrahim Shekarau’s G-7 faction of the APC control of the party’s structures in the state.
The verdict of the court was delivered on Thursday morning.
The three-man panel of Justices Haruna Tsammani, B. I. Gafai and J. Amadi upheld the appeal of the Ganduje’s faction by granting its three prayers.
The appellate court ruled that the lower court erred in giving the judgement as it lacked the territorial jurisdiction.
Also, the appellate court ruled that the matter is intra-party and that the originating process was filed in error.
