Telecommunication giant Globacom has urged tertiary institutions in Oyo State to adopt its digital solutions to improve learning, productivity, security, and operational efficiency.
Globacom’s Head of Enterprise Business, Zakari Usman, made the call at a meeting with representatives of various private tertiary institutions in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
The meeting was chaired by the Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Waheed Adelabu, who had organised a similar gathering in August with leaders from the state government-owned tertiary institutions.
Usman said this was part of the company’s efforts to support the growth of the education sector in Nigeria.
He further stressed Globacom’s readiness to collaborate with the schools in areas such as connectivity services, e-governance, smart learning, security surveillance, data vending, sponsored data, Glo Smart Health, and closed user group serialised numbers.

“These digital solutions include interactive content, personalised learning paths, user-friendly interfaces, thorough reporting, and analytics,” he added.
On his part, Adelabu commended Globacom for its support for the education sector and its goals for tertiary institutions in Oyo State.
The commissioner further expressed optimism that Globacom’s digital services will strengthen the ministry’s efforts to establish best practices in education across Oyo State.
