Glovo has reaffirmed its commitment to Nigeria after investing more than N54 billion in the country since launching operations in 2021.
The multi-category technology company said it would continue supporting customers, business partners and riders while contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s digital commerce ecosystem.
According to the company, its platform has facilitated the delivery of more than 40 million items to customers in Nigeria, while the economic value generated for businesses using the platform more than doubled in the past year.
Glovo said Nigeria is its fastest-growing market globally in 2026, with the country ranking among its 21 markets worldwide.
The company also said it has continued to support local businesses through its Glovo Academy initiative, which has delivered more than 50 in-person training sessions to hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses.
It said the training programme has recorded improvements in the performance of participating businesses.
Earlier in the year, Glovo hosted its second annual Future of Commerce Summit, bringing together executives from brands including Chicken Republic, Burger King and The Place, alongside hundreds of local small and medium-sized restaurant businesses.
Speaking on the company’s outlook for Nigeria, the Director of Glovo in Africa, Dima Rasnovsky, said the company remained confident in the country’s long-term economic and digital potential.
Rasnovsky said Glovo’s strategy would focus on strengthening its technology, supporting businesses operating on its platform and creating sustainable value across the digital commerce ecosystem.
“Our confidence in Nigeria remains strong. We have invested significantly in the market because we believe in its potential and the opportunities that technology can unlock for businesses and customers,” he said.
He added that the company was also focused on creating earning opportunities for thousands of couriers using its platform.
“As the market continues to evolve, our focus is on strengthening our ecosystem and ensuring that we continue to create meaningful value for everyone who relies on our platform,” Rasnovsky said.
