Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the appointment of Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa, as the new General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club.
The announcement was made on Thursday in a statement issued by the Director-General of Media and Publicity at the Government House, Sunusi Bature.
According to the statement, Musa’s appointment is part of ongoing efforts to reposition the club ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. The decision followed the expiration of the one-year tenure of the club’s previous management board, which led the team to a 9th-place finish in the NPFL.
While several members of the previous board were retained, some strategic adjustments were made. Mr. Ali Muhammad-Umar continues as the Chairman of the board.
Other members of the reconstituted board include: Salisu Kosawa, Yusuf Danladi, Idris Garu, Nasiru Bello, Muhammad Ibrahim, Abdulkarim Chara, Muhammad Gwarzo, Mustapha Darma, Umar Dankura, Ahmad Musbahu, Gambo Shuaibu, Rabiu Abdullahi, Aminu Ma’alesh, and Safiyanu Abdu.
Abubakar Dandago and Ismail Abba were appointed as Media Director I and II, respectively.
Bature explained that Musa’s appointment was a strategic move by the board, aimed at leveraging his international football experience and leadership skills to reposition Kano Pillars as a strong contender in the NPFL.
The Kano State Government expressed confidence in the ability of the new management to deliver results and restore the club’s glory under the current administration.
