Governor promises land, foreign scholarships for media aides

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has promised land allocations and overseas postgraduate scholarships for his media aides in recognition of their contributions to promoting government policies and programmes.

Fintiri also pledged to sponsor qualified aides who meet the necessary requirements for master’s degree programmes in Turkey to enhance their educational qualifications and professional capacity.

The governor made the promises at a meeting with his media aides and those of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Ahmed Galadima, in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, on Monday, October 19, 2026.

He urged the media aides to remain united and intensify efforts towards ensuring the victory of all APC candidates, assuring them of his continued support.

Fintiri emphasised the need for continuity in governance, citing achievements of his administration, including the construction of 111 primary healthcare facilities across the state and the establishment of educational institutions from basic to university level.

Fintiri added that the investments were aimed at improving access to healthcare and education, stressing the importance of sustaining development initiatives.

Earlier, the Adamawa APC Chairman, Hamza Madagali, acknowledged that disagreements within political groups were not unusual but urged the media aides to close ranks and remain committed to promoting the party and its candidates.

In separate remarks, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Information, Prof. John Ngamsa; APC State Publicity Secretary, Victor Dogo; and Chairman of the Special Assistants to the Governor on Content Creation, Ijabani Ijahu; among others, described Fintiri as a father figure.

They acknowledged his mentorship, guidance and support, while urging the aides to sustain their commitment to the party’s objectives.
