Gridlock as petrol tanker explodes on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Scores of people were stranded on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, after a petroleum tanker fell and exploded on the ever-busy highway.

The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident.

The FRSC noted that the accident occurred at the NASFAT U-Turn axis of the expressway.

The FRSC disclosed that emergency response teams were swiftly deployed to the scene to manage the situation and prevent further damage.

It was further gathered that two people were injured while many vehicles were razed in the incident.
