The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Caleb Mutfwang, as the winner of the March 18 governorship election in Plateau State.
According to the results announced by the Returning Officer of the election, Musa Yusuf, Mutfwang polled 525,299 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 491,370 votes.
The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Dr Patrick Dakum, garnered 60, 310 votes.
Mutfwang won in 10 Local Government Areas out of 17 LGAs in the state.
