Gunmen kidnap 14 in Katsina

Gunmen have abducted no fewer than 14 persons in three different villages of Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

It was gathered that the victims were kidnapped after the gunmen invaded the villages at about 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

The villages include Yakkaka in Gazari ward, Yallagwada in Maibakko ward, and Maiturmi in Rafin-Iwa ward.

It was learnt that the assailants abducted seven persons at Yarkaka, six people at Yallagwada, and one woman at Maiturmi.

Confirming the incident on Wednesday, the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, said efforts were ongoing to rescue the victims and arrest the assailants.
