Gunmen kill female student in Gombe

Gunmen have killed a female student of the College of Education, Billiri in Gombe State, Yosi Yusuf.

It was gathered that the female student was killed at Zazzagawa quarters in Billiri where Yusuf resided in the early hours of Sunday, October 22, 2023.

It was learned that Yusuf, a third-year student of the college, hailed from Baganje Town in Billiri Local Government Area of the state.

The Gombe State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar, who confirmed the incident, said an investigation into the incident has commenced with a view to arresting the assailants.

Abubakar added that the body of the deceased has been deposited in the mortuary of the Billiri General Hospital until the police complete the investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing of the student.

The latest incident came barely 48 hours after unknown assailants killed a 58-year-old woman, Aishatu Abdullahi, in the state.
