Gunmen kill Lagos monarch’s son

Gunmen have killed Demola Akinloye, the first son of Ojomu of Ajiran land, Tijani Akinloye, in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

It was gathered that the 50-year-old monarch’s son was killed by gunmen driving a minibus in Lekki.

The incident was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Monday, August 26, 2024.

Hundeyin disclosed that the incident occurred along Chevron Drive in Lekki at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, while the deceased was driving in his black Toyota Corolla near Bourdilon Court Estate gate.

Train crushes man to death in Lagos

He said a distress call was received at the police station that a man later identified as Demola Akinloye was shot and stabbed to death.

The police spokesman added: “The scene had been visited; one expended cartridge was recovered, while the corpse has been moved to a morgue in Ajah for preservation and autopsy.

“The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.”
