Gunmen reportedly abduct travellers in Rivers

Gunmen have reportedly abducted a yet-to-be-ascertained number of travellers in Rivers State

The passengers were said to have been abducted following an attack on two commercial buses in the state.

It was gathered that the buses were heading to Kalabari riverine axis in Degema, Asaritoru and Akukutoru Local Government Councils from Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State capital before the gunmen hijacked the buses along Degema/Buguma/Abonnema Road on East/West road.

The incident, which occurred on Monday evening was said to have caused tension in the area.

The whereabouts of the passengers and the buses were unknown as of press time, while the Rivers State Police Command had yet to react to the incident.
