Hausa film streaming platform wins international award

Eight months after its debut, a Hausa film streaming platform, Kallo, has won an international award as Best New Streaming Innovation.

Kallo was founded by Maijidda Modibbo to make Hausa films available to viewers online globally.

The platform won the award at the event organised by Marketing World Awards (MWA), an ISO recognised media and event firm, during its 11th annual ceremony, held in Accra, Ghana on July 15.

In a statement on the development, the Kallo Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Maijidda Moddibo, said the award was won as a result of hard work and innovation to make the platform meet international standards.

Moddibo expressed delight over the huge success within a short period of time, noting that the platform had already gone far in using modern technological innovations to make the platform effective and attractive in order to meet the demands of Hausa movie lovers.

According to her, the platform currently has over 35,000 subscribers within just eight months of its debut.

She said: “This award was a reward for our hard work and efforts to satisfy our clients. The organization that gave us the award is an internationally reputable organization.

“The award, won after months of launching this platform, would not make us complacent; rather, we will be gingered to do more in order to satisfy our subscribers as well as to meet the international standard.”

Moddibo further stressed that the award would the platform put more effort into satisfying the subscribers and Hausa film lovers.
