The Jigawa State Hisbah Board has destroyed alcoholic beverages worth N5.8 million in Kazaure Local Government Area.
State Commander of the Board, Malam Ibrahim Dahiru, disclosed this on Monday in Dutse, noting that the items were seized during raids on bars across Kazaure. A total of 400 cartons of alcohol were confiscated and set ablaze.
The operation was led by the Chairman of Kazaure LGA, Alhaji Mansur Dabuwa.
Dahiru reiterated that alcohol consumption is banned across Jigawa State, adding that the Board remains committed to curbing immoral activities, including drinking.
He urged residents to support Hisbah’s efforts by providing useful information and warned against indulging in practices that could harm societal values.
