Confirming the incident on Sunday, the Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawal Jiisu, said the man, a cyclist, was hit by a 25-year-old horse rider, Muhammed Mustapha, after he lost control of the horse on Saturday, June 10, 2023.
Jiisu disclosed that the 70-year-old cyclist sustained varying degrees of injuries and fractures on his left leg and shoulder.
He stated that a team of policemen rushed to the scene and conveyed the victim to Ringim General Hospital.
