Fresh details have emerged on the death of notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Abdurrahman Jankare, who was reportedly killed by a rival during an internal clash in Tsaskiya village, Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Reliable security and local sources told Zagazola Makama that Jankare was shot dead on Thursday by a fellow bandit identified as Nazanku, a close ally of another notorious kingpin, Dan Ori.
According to sources, the killing followed a heated dispute between the two men over the seizure of a rifle and a bag containing magazines belonging to Nazanku.
“Last week, Jankare confiscated Nazanku’s rifle, and just yesterday, he took a bag that held his magazines.
“That act provoked Nazanku, who confronted him and shot him dead,” a source revealed.
Jankare’s burial reportedly took place later the same day, with only seven people in attendance for his funeral prayer.
Until his death, Kachalla Jankare was one of the most feared lieutenants of the late bandit warlord, Kachalla Usman Modi Modi.
He was linked to multiple deadly attacks and kidnappings across Dutsinma, Safana, and Kurfi Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
His death has reportedly sparked renewed tension among rival bandit factions operating within the northwestern forest region.
