Security operatives in Enugu State have uncovered a human skull and other suspected ritual items during a raid on a church in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area.
The discovery was made at a building identified as a synagogue, owned by one Prophet Chinedu Solomon Ezedike.
Ezedike has been previously linked to the gruesome murder of four siblings in the area. Following the initial revelations, the Enugu State Government promptly demolished the church structure in accordance with existing laws.
To deepen the investigation into the pastor’s activities, authorities expanded their search to include other properties associated with Ezedike.
This led to the latest discovery at a construction site on Abile Hill, Isi-Agu, Ibagwa-Aka.
Confirming the development in a Facebook post on Monday, the Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA, Barr. Ferdinand Ukwueze, stated that the operation was based on actionable intelligence regarding suspected criminal activity.
“Two days ago, while combing suspected solitary sites and criminal hideouts, I visited a location at Abile Hill with the Divisional Police Officer and other security operatives,” Ukwueze wrote.
“At the site, which is under construction as a so-called synagogue by Prophet Chinedu Ezedike, a human skull and a ritual staff were found.
“This disturbing discovery adds to the growing evidence against the suspect.”
The recovered items have been handed over to the police for further investigation.
Ukwueze affirmed the government’s commitment to rooting out criminal elements from the area, promising that more hidden locations would be uncovered in the ongoing crackdown.
