‘I don’t have primary school certificate’: Cosmas Maduka attributes business success to faith

The Founder and Chairman of Coscharis Group, Cosmas Maduka, has shared his life story, attributing his rise from humble beginnings to strong Christian faith and biblical principles.

Maduka disclosed that he did not obtain a primary school certificate and lost his father at the age of four, experiences he said exposed him to ridicule and hardship while growing up.

The billionaire businessman, in a Facebook post on Friday, January 9, 2026, noted that despite these challenges, his life took a new direction after he gave his life to Jesus as a teenager.

He said his understanding of business was shaped by Christian teachings rather than formal education, stressing that the principles of Jesus Christ form the foundation of his entrepreneurial success.

Maduka said he built a global business empire without attending any business school.

Maduka stated: “My name is Cosmas Maduka. I do not have a primary school certificate.

“My father died when I was four years old.

“Those who went to school used to call me a shop rat while growing up.

“Despite all these setbacks, I gave my life to Jesus as a teenager, and my life changed. I learned about business from Jesus. The principles of Jesus form all my business secrets. From the Bible, without going to any business school, I have built a global empire, and so can you too.

“Without a degree, I have served on the boards of two publicly quoted banks.

The business mogul revealed that despite not having a university degree, he has established a multi-billion-dollar business presence across five continents and 15 African countries.

He credited his achievements entirely to God’s grace, describing himself as “nothing without the help of God.”

Maduka added: “I have built a multi-billion-dollar empire across five continents and fifteen African countries. All these things could not have been possible without Jesus. I am nothing without the grace and help of God.

“I pray for you today. Despite your limitations, grace will lift you up in 2026, in Jesus’ name. Jesus will give you an unfair advantage in the marketplace this year, 2026.”
