The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has issued a stern warning to the general public against the alarming increase in fake recruitment advertisements perpetrated by fraudsters in the country.
The NIS Comptroller General, Kemi Nandap, gave the warning in a statement issued by the Service Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Udo, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
Nandap said the fraudsters had been deceiving unsuspecting members of the public with false promises of employment opportunities within the service.
The Immigration boss stated: “The attention of the NIS has been drawn to the alarming increase in fake recruitment activities being perpetrated by fraudsters.
“The NIS maintains that all recruitment exercises are conducted in a transparent, free and merit-based manner.

Nandap urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and refrain from patronising fraudulent recruitment schemes.
