The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Ondo State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as the winner of the state’s governorship election.
The INEC returning officer, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, declared Aiyedatiwa as the winner of the gubernatorial election at the results collation centre in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
Aiyedatiwa won the election with 366,781 votes to defeat his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 117,845 votes.

Akinwumi said: “I, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, the returning officer, hereby certify that I am the returning officer of the Ondo state governorship election held on the 16th of November, 2024.
“I hereby declare that Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and he is returned elected.”
