The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the President-Elect.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, declared Tinubu as winner of the February 25 presidential election.
Tinubu emerged with a total 8,794,726 votes, while his closest rival and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, polled 6,984,520 votes.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) came third with 6,101,533 votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) came fourth with 1,496,687 votes.
Tinubu also secured the constitutional 25 per cent in two-thirds of the states.
He secured 25 per cent in 30 states.
Yakubu said that Tinubu is declared returned and elected haven satisfied the requirements.

“That Tinubu Bola Ahmed of the APC haven satisfied the requirements of the law and scoring the highest votes is hereby declared winner and elected,” Yakubu said.
He gave the total number of registered voters in the country as 93,469,008, accredited voters as 25,286,616, valid votes as 24,025,940 and rejected votes as 939,278.

The INEC will present the Certificate of Return to Tinubu at 3 p.m.
The election result sheets were not signed by PDP, LP, NNPP, and other parties which had earlier on Monday staged a walkout of the national collation centre, alleging the process of the election had been compromised, demanding the election should be cancelled and a fresh poll be conducted.
Eighteen parties participated in the presidential election.
According to the INEC Chairman, Tinubu won in 12 states, while Atiku also won in 12 states.
Obi also won in 12 states, while Kwankwaso won only in Kano State.
Tinubu won in Ekiti, Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Zamfara, Rivers, Benue, Kwara, Kogi Jigawa, Borno, and Niger states.
Atiku won in Adamawa, Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina, Kaduna, Yobe, Gombe, Bauchi, Taraba, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Osun states.
Obi won in Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi, Anambra, Abia, Plateau, Nasarawa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Plateau states, and FCT.
