Isaac Fayose has announced the death of his wife, drawing an outpouring of condolences from friends, fans and celebrities.
Fayose, who is the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, shared the news in an Instagram post on Saturday. Posting an image of a candlelight, he wrote, “Rest in peace, my darling wife.”
In a separate post accompanied by photos of his late wife, he paid an emotional tribute, writing, “Odaro oyinbo mi,” a phrase expressing farewell and affection.
The loss comes months after Fayose publicly revealed that his wife had been battling cancer. In March, following a visit to his family in Australia, he disclosed that her health had deteriorated significantly.
He recounted how she had grown too weak to carry out daily activities, noting that the woman who once picked him up from the airport and cooked for him was no longer able to do so. Fayose said he spent time caring for her, including singing her favourite songs while she held his hand.
News of her passing has since triggered widespread sympathy, with several public figures offering condolences. Among those who reacted are actress Yvonne Jegede, comedian Ali Baba, and veteran musician Daddy Showkey.
Further details about funeral arrangements have not yet been made public.
