JAMB releases nearly 1.9m UTME results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held between April 16 and April 18.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board disclosed that 1,264,940 results from candidates who sat for the exam on Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 18, have been processed and released.

This follows an earlier batch of 632,752 results for candidates who took the examination on Thursday, April 16. Altogether, the board said it has so far released a total of 1,897,692 results from the first three days of the nationwide exercise.

JAMB advised candidates to check their results using its official SMS method. Candidates are required to send “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.

The board noted that the released results cover only the initial phase of the examination, which began nationwide on Thursday. The UTME is expected to involve more than two million candidates across accredited computer-based test centres nationwide.
