Nigerian small and medium-sized businesses fulfil an average of 86 per cent of their monthly orders through apps, highlighting the growing reliance on digital platforms for deliveries, according to a study by mobility and delivery company, inDrive.

The company disclosed this in a statement announcing that its inDrive.Couriers service is expanding support for businesses seeking flexible and affordable delivery options.

Businesses in sectors including fashion, cosmetics, food and pharmaceuticals are increasingly using digital platforms to manage logistics, streamline order fulfilment and improve customer service.

Through inDrive.Couriers, merchants can arrange same-day deliveries by motorcycle or car, propose their preferred delivery price and select verified couriers based on ratings and available transport options.

The service also offers real-time tracking, allowing businesses to monitor parcels from pickup to drop-off and keep customers updated on delivery progress.

The Country Manager of inDrive Nigeria, Timothy Oladimeji, said the service gives businesses greater flexibility in managing delivery costs and schedules without committing to lengthy contracts with logistics companies.

He said the platform’s features could help entrepreneurs coordinate orders more efficiently, reduce the time spent following up on deliveries and focus more on sales and customer relationships.

“Small and medium-sized businesses need delivery solutions that are convenient, affordable, and flexible enough to meet their day-to-day needs,” Oladimeji said.

He added that the company aims to give entrepreneurs more control over delivery operations while helping them serve customers and grow their businesses.

To protect merchants against losses, inDrive.Couriers also provides free parcel coverage in Nigeria, offering reimbursement of up to N50,000 per order if a parcel is lost or damaged in transit.

The coverage applies automatically at no additional cost, providing businesses with an extra layer of protection when fulfilling customer orders.
