Jos shines as Africa crowns new tourism ambassadors at 2025 international finals

The city of Jos came alive as it hosted the Miss and Mister Tourism Africa International 2025 World Finals, a vibrant celebration of the continent’s culture, creativity and tourism potential.

Contestants from 23 African countries lit up the stage with displays of talent, elegance and purpose, reinforcing Africa’s rising prominence in the global tourism arena.

The event, organised in partnership with the Plateau State Government under Governor Caleb Mutfwang, transformed Jos into a cultural hub.

With its cool weather, striking landscapes and renowned hospitality, the city reaffirmed its reputation as Nigeria’s tourism heartbeat.

Mauritius’ Reyna Amboorallee was crowned Miss Tourism Africa International 2025 after impressing judges with her poise and commitment to sustainable tourism.

Botswana’s Neolin Jacob finished as 1st Runner-Up, while Nigeria’s Margaret Abbah secured 2nd Runner-Up.

In the male category, Ednilton Delgado Da Cruz Silva of Cape Verde clinched the Mister Tourism Africa International 2025 title.

Zimbabwe’s Takunda Ryan Chitope and Nigeria’s Evans Ezekiel placed 1st and 2nd Runner-Up respectively.

Gabon’s Jenna Andson Marie-Ange Meïye Decastel and Kenya’s Zamzam Godana were named Tourism Ambassadors for their eloquence, leadership and dedication to promoting Africa’s image on the global stage.

Speaking at the event, Founder and President of the organisation, Ambassador Seth Santiago Roberts, said the initiative was created to drive Africa’s development by merging culture, creativity and commerce.

“This platform was built to give Africa a voice — one that speaks through our youth, our culture and our innovation,” he said.

“Every contestant represents a story of Africa’s potential.

“Through tourism, we’re not just showcasing destinations; we’re showcasing who we are and who we can become.”

Amb. Roberts also called for stronger collaboration between African governments and the private sector, noting that a united approach could position the continent as a top global tourism destination.

Jos Takes Centre Stage

For residents of Plateau State, the world finals signified more than a pageant.

It was a celebration of heritage and resilience, highlighting the state’s natural beauty and cultural wealth.

Guests experienced the city’s scenic views, diverse traditions and welcoming atmosphere, sparking renewed interest in Jos as a must-visit destination.

From Botswana’s vibrant rhythms to Mauritius’ island charm, Cape Verde’s cultural elegance and Nigeria’s bold energy, each contestant brought a unique cultural identity that made the event a colourful showcase of African unity.

As the curtains closed on the 2025 world finals, the event’s message stood clear: Africa’s moment has arrived.

“Miss and Mister Tourism Africa International is more than a competition; it’s a movement for a new Africa — confident, creative and connected,” Amb. Roberts affirmed.

The event not only crowned Africa’s newest tourism ambassadors but also reignited a continental vision — one where Africa’s beauty, culture and spirit take centre stage on the world map.
