Julius Berger awards scholarships to Delta students

Julius Berger Services Nigeria Limited has awarded scholarships running into several millions of naira to 24 students in Ogbe-Ijoh and Ugbomefa, Delta State.

The scholarships were awarded to assist both secondary and tertiary institution students from the communities as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Julius Berger Services Nigeria Limited, in a statement made available to The Star on Tuesday, said as a sensitive part of its business culture, the company goes beyond the essential profit-making motive to strongly partner with its host environment and people for mutually progressive development, advancement and growth.

Speaking on the development, the General Manager, Julius Berger Nigeria Services, Captain Rainer Jensch, who was represented by the Manager Sales and Public Relations, Henry Osunbor, admonished the beneficiaries to remain focused in their studies and be diligent in their academic and professional development because of the strategic importance of education to their future.

Osunbor also urged the representatives of the communities and their youth leaders to counsel their children and wards to use the funds for the purpose for which it was provided, adding that the company, as a proactive policy, remains mindful and committed to progressively do more, to positively affect and lift lives in its host communities.

On their part, the Chairman, Scholarship Board of Ogbe-Ijoh Kingdom, Chief Sylvester Tiebebedigha, the Secretary General of Ogbe-Ijoh kingdom, Comrade Mefe Alagba, among other representatives of the host communities expressed their gratitude to the company for the kind gesture.
