Kaduna govt unveils emergency response teams to avert flood

The Kaduna State Government has inaugurated two emergency response teams to strengthen preparedness and coordination against anticipated flood during the 2025 rainy season.

The Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), Usman Mazadu, inaugurated the ‘Flood Emergency Operations and Response Strategic Team’ and ‘the Flood Tactical and Response Team’ in Kaduna on Monday, July 21, 2025.

Mazadu said the teams would lead coordinated efforts to minimise the loss of lives and properties, in line with Governor Uba Sani’s directive for early actions in disaster-prone areas.

Mazadu said the response teams would conduct search and rescue operations, deliver emergency medical services, provide temporary shelter to displaced persons, and mobilise critical resources for relief efforts.
