The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kaduna State Chapter, has suspended its ongoing strike after a meeting with the state government and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
The meeting, held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the office of the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Sir James Kanyip, brought together representatives of JUSUN and officials of the NBA Kaduna and Barnawa branches.
In a communiqué jointly signed by JUSUN Chairman Auwal Sarki, Attorney-General Sir James Kanyip, NBA Kaduna Branch Chairman Baba Lawal Aliyu, and NBA Barnawa Vice Chairman E. E. Ekhasemomhe, the parties confirmed that the strike was temporarily suspended.
The union agreed to pause its industrial action pending the outcome of another meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2025, which will also include members of JUSUN’s National Executive Council (NEC).
All parties pledged continued dialogue to ensure lasting industrial harmony and the smooth administration of justice in Kaduna State.
The discussions were described as cordial, with stakeholders expressing optimism about reaching a permanent resolution soon.
