Kane signs new Bayern Munich contract to become highest-paid player in Europe

England striker Harry Kane has signed a two-year extension at Bayern Munich, keeping the Ballon d’Or winner at the club until 2029.

Kane is entering the final six months of the four-year deal he signed when he joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham in 2023.

The new contract is the most lucrative deal in Bayern Munich history, making him the highest-paid player in Europe by salary.

According to reports, Kane’s new salary is at least €25 million gross per year.

“Ballon d’Or winner Harry Kane has signed a new contract with FC Bayern until 30 June 2029,” Bayern said in a statement on Thursday.

Kane has so far scored 156 goals in 161 competitive appearances, breaking records at domestic and European level, culminating in being named the best player in the world last week.

Kane said: “I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich. We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club.

“My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”
