The Kano State House of Assembly has approved loan request of N10 billion by the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The request was contained in a letter forwarded to the Assembly by Ganduje and read by the Speaker, Hamisu Chidari, on Wednesday.

According to the letter, the loan will be used for security infrastructure development in Kano.

The Star gathered that part of the security infrastructure to be developed include installation of CCTV in Kano.

In the letter, Governor Ganduje said the development became necessary over the recent security challenges facing the state.

In another development, the Kano State House of Assembly has appointed Magaji Zarewa as its deputy majority leader, following the resignation of Abdullahi Yaryasa.

Yaryasa resigned his appointment after his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The Assembly Speaker, who read Yaryasa’s resignation letter at plenary, wished him well in his new party and thanked him for his numerous contributions in the House.

Zarewa, who represents Rogo constituency appreciated the Assembly for finding him worthy of the new appointment.
