The Board stressed the importance of adhering to established censorship laws, which govern the production, marketing, streaming, and broadcast of media content in the state. It warned that non-compliance may lead to legal consequences.

Producers of the affected series have been ordered to cease all forms of distribution – both online and offline – and submit their content for censorship review.

A one-week deadline, from Monday, May 19, to Monday, May 26, 2025, has been given for compliance. (The Board acknowledged an earlier typo listing May 15 as the deadline.)

The Board also urged television stations and the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to support the enforcement process, as part of ongoing efforts to uphold industry standards and foster responsible content production in the Kannywood film sector.
