The Kano State Government has distributed the remaining CACOVID equipment to 175 health centres across the state.
The medical equipment, accordingly to Kano State Commissioner of Health, Dr Aminu Tsanyawa who chaired the distribution, were district due to the decline in COVID-19 cases which gave the opportunity for better use of the supply.
Tsanyawa, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Amina Musa, enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the commodities for optimal benefit.
“The CACOVID provided additional support of these items when we were in the midst of the pandemic which was used to provide additional isolation centre built at Sani Abacha stadium.
“The centre was then equipped with equipments to include beds, air conditioners, television sets and gym centre among others. We thank God it has all come to pass,” he said.

Flagging up the distribution, the Director-General, Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA), Hisham Imamuddeen, said 175 health facilities comprising primary health care facilities, general hospitals and Specialist hospitals benefit from the equipment.
According to him, the exercise was part of the state government’s effort aimed at improving the quality of healthcare across the 44 Local Government areas of Kano State.
“Facilities needs to improve to cater for the increasing population and this is why we felt the need to distribute these equipments for the betterment of the people.”
“These are equipments from Sani Abacha Isolation Centre, they were brought here due to decline of Covid-19,” Imamuddeen said.
Some of the beneficiaries commended the effort of the Kano State Government just as they promised to make judicious utilisation of the commodities for better health care delivery in the state.
