A member representing Dambatta constituency at the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Murtala Musa Kore, who defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) a few days ago, has backtracked to his old party, the All Progressives Congress (APC)
Hon. Kore was among the serving legislators that moved to the NNPP alongside Ali Haruna Makoda, the former Chief of Staff of Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Although Kore did not give details for his sudden defection, sources close to him confirmed to The Star that it was a misunderstanding that inspired such reaction which has been resolved amicably.
“It was a misunderstanding but now it has been resolved. He has returned to the APC under the leadership of Gov Abdullahi Umar Ganduje,” a source disclosed.
Meanwhile, Governor Ganduje has ordered Kano State Head of Civil Service, Alh. Usman Bala, to oversee the office of the Chief of Staff.

This was made known via a statement issued by Kano State Commissioner of Information, Muhammad Garba, on Sunday.
“Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has directed the Head of Civil Service, Usman Bala, to oversee the Office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor with immediate effect,” the statement partly read.
The governor said the supervision would be effective pending the appointment of a substantive Chief of Staff.
Ganduje further expressed optimism for effective supervision and coordination by the Head of Service, having served in the office before.
