One out of the five abducted female students of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State has regained freedom after about 50 days in captivity.
It was gathered that the girl was released from the kidnappers’ den and taken to Kuncin Kalgo in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, from where she was brought back to Katsina State on Sunday.
The student is said to be in stable condition, but receiving medical attention.

Her release was confirmed by the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Aliyu Abubakar-Sadiq, on Tuesday, November 21.
The girls have been in captivity since October 3, 2023, when gunmen invaded the rented apartment of the students located behind Mariamoh Ajiri Memorial School, Dutsinma, at about 2 a.m.
The police had at the time announced the arrest of a man suspected to be an informant to the terrorists, but since then no information was provided on the progress of the investigation.
