Lagos building collapse: 4 rescued as death toll hits 3

Another body has been recovered from the three-storey building that collapsed in the Yaba area of Lagos State.

The Acting Head of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos Operations Office, Ibitayo Adenike, made this known on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

Adenike disclosed that the recovery of the body from the rubble in the early hours of Sunday brought the total number of victims to seven — three dead and four rescued.

Adenike said the building at Alagomeji in Yaba collapsed at about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, trapping several persons beneath the debris.

“Search and rescue operations are still ongoing,” she added.
