The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, has directed the immediate withdrawal of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce) from traffic control duties across the state.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, announced this via a statement issued on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, saying it was part of efforts to streamline traffic management and improve professionalism in traffic enforcement operations.

Adebisi noted that the withdrawal affects only traffic control and enforcement of traffic contraventions, noting that the Taskforce will continue to perform its other assigned responsibilities.
