Lagos dismisses reports of rift between Sanwo-Olu, Abiodun

The Lagos State Government has dismissed reports circulating on some online media platforms and blogs suggesting a rift between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and his Ogun State counterpart, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, the government described the reports as false and misleading, stressing that the relationship between the two governors is cordial and brotherly.

According to the statement, Governors Sanwo-Olu and Abiodun maintain regular contact and meetings, frequently engaging on issues of mutual interest aimed at advancing the development of their respective states.

It noted that the close relationship is further strengthened by the shared boundaries between Lagos and Ogun states, as well as their socio-cultural ties.

The Lagos State Government warned against attempts by individuals or groups to sow discord between the two leaders through the spread of fake news, urging such actors to desist.

The statement added that both governors remain united by a common vision to improve the welfare and living conditions of their people, reaffirming their commitment to cooperation and regional development.
