President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was urged on Friday to remain steadfast and focused on his leadership goals, even in the face of criticism, during Jumat prayers at Lekki Central Mosque in Lagos.
Speaking at the service, the visiting imam, Dr. Salahudeen Arriyadhi, praised ongoing development efforts under the Tinubu administration and told the President, “You cannot satisfy everyone at the same time.”
Quoting the Qur’an, the cleric reminded Tinubu that Allah favors leaders who listen to the needs of their people, but said they must remain committed to serving them. “We are praying for you, and you will succeed,” he added.
In his sermon, titled “Unity in Diversity” and “Remembering the Day of Judgement,” Dr. Arriyadhi stressed that human differences in tribe, religion, language and nationality are part of Allah’s design and should be embraced as foundations for unity and harmony, rather than division.
Tinubu, who has been spending the festive season in Lagos since arriving on December 20, was accompanied to the mosque by senior aides including his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, and National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
He was welcomed by Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and mosque officials.
