Lagos police arrest driver for crushing LASU student to death

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a driver allegedly responsible for the death of a student of Lagos State University (LASU) in a fatal motor accident in the Igando area of the state.

The command disclosed this in a statement posted on its handle on Saturday night, saying an investigation into the incident had commenced.

It stated that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Igando promptly visited the scene, adding that the student’s body had been deposited in the mortuary.

It was gathered that the female student, identified simply as Azeezat, was crushed to death at about 7:00 p.m. on Saturday in Igando.

A video circulating online showed some students storming the Area M Police Division, accusing officers of attempting to shield the driver and cover up the incident.
