Lawyer, 11 others eye royal stool in Osun

A lawyer, Tiamiyu Sule Adegboyega Omoloye, and 11 other Princes have declared their interest in the vacant obaship stool of Eko-Ende, a community in the Ifelodun North Local Council Development Area of Osun State.

The stool became vacant on March 23, 2023, when the last occupant, the late Oba Rauf Olaniyan Ajiboye, joined his ancestors.

Ajiboye was from the Olaigbo Ruling House.

Before the late monarch was Oba Raji Oladosu who was from the Eesaorun section of the Ayedun Ruling House. Ayedun Ruling House has three Sections; Obatiwajoye, Aromawe, and Eesaorun.

With the departure of the last traditional ruler from Olaigbo Ruling House, the other two remaining sections of the house, Obatiwajoye and Aromaye, are expected to produce the next monarch of the community.

However, in a family meeting held on October 11, 2023, under the supervision of officials from the LCDA, 12 candidates were confirmed to have collected forms having been nominated by stakeholders from the ruling house.
