The operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have arrested Anambra-based lawyer, Adachukwu Okafor, who has been on the run after she allegedly abused her 11-year-old house help.
The Federal Government had placed a N2 million bounty on the lawyer for allegedly brutalising her maid.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, made the declaration in Abuja on February 12 following a viral video of the girl after she was abused and returned to her aunt, who gave her out as a house help.
The lawyer was alleged to have used a hot pressing iron and knife to burn and chop in pieces, the private part of her house help.
However, the Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Women Affairs, Ohaeri Joseph, in a statement on Saturday, February 17, said Okafor has been arrested by the police.

Joseph said: “Days after the Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs Uju Ohanenye, placed a N2 million bounty on an Onitsha-based lawyer, Mrs Adachukwu Okafor, for child abuse in Onitsha, she has been arrested.
“The lady’s action, which went viral across various social media platforms, was alleged to have inflicted bodily harm on the minor.
“The lady has been on the run for weeks after being reported to have inflicted severe injuries on the minor which prompted the minister to place a reward of N2 million for information on her whereabouts.”
He reiterated the commitment of the ministry to collaborate with the police to commence an immediate investigation into the matter.
“The girl is still undergoing medical treatment in the hospital, but I can assure members of the public that she would get justice,” the minister’s spokesman added.
