Nollywood actress, Kemi Afolabi, has commenced treatment for lupus in the United States.

The 44-year-old actress, who had announced that she is suffering from lupus, made this known via a post on her Instagram page on Thursday night.

Afolabi disclosed that she was undergoing treatment at the John Hopkins Hospital in Maryland, United States.

The popular Yoruba actress, in the post accompanied by a video of herself undergoing treatment in the hospital, stated: “I commence my lupus treatment journey today 06/30/2022 with @hopkinsmedicine Alihamdulilah 🙏

“Some beautiful souls made this happen, God bless you all🙏❤️ wish me luck.”

The Star recalls that Afolabi, in March 2022, disclosed she was diagnosed with lupus.

Earlier, the actress revealed to her fans that she was diagnosed with an incurable disease which led her to sell her properties and secure space for her burial.

The Nollywood actress, in an interview with show host, Chude Jideonwo, revealed that her doctor said she cannot live beyond five years.

She added that she had lived just one year after the doctor told her she had five years to live.

Speaking on the ailment, the popular actress, who stated that she had paid N1.2m for a treatment with no good result, revealed: “I have lupus. It’s not curable. You just have to take medications for the rest of your life.”
