Man burnt to death over murder of minor in Nasarawa

A man identified as Samaila Zaria was burnt to death by a mob on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Tsohon Kasuwa, Keffi town, Nasarawa State, following allegations that he murdered a child and removed the victim’s eyes.

Eyewitnesses said the gruesome nature of the crime sparked outrage across the community, prompting residents to apprehend Zaria and set him ablaze before security forces could intervene. He reportedly died on the spot.

The incident has left the community in shock and mourning, with residents describing the act as both horrifying and tragic.

Many have called for increased security measures and swift judicial action to prevent similar incidents.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement, but investigations into both the murder and the mob action are reportedly underway.

Community leaders have urged calm, warning residents against taking the law into their own hands.
