Man docked for stealing employer’s cartons of Milo worth N11.4m
The Police in Lagos on Friday, January 10, arraigned a 38-year-old man, Stephen Ogunleye, before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates Court for allegedly stealing five cartons of Milo valued at N11.4 million, belonging to his employer.
The defendant, a marketer, who resides at 5, Ogundimu St., Iju, Lagos, is being tried for stealing.
The Prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offence was committed on April 21, 2024 at Rutforce Marketing Limited, Ogba, Lagos.
Akeem said that while the company’s goods were being audited, it was discovered that five cartons of Milo beverages were missing.
He said that evidences pointed at the defendant as being behind the missing product.
According to prosecutor, the offence contravened section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O. Kushanu, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million, with two sureties in like sum.
Kushanu, thereafter, adjourned the case till February 10 for mention.
