Man on 19-day fasting dies in Lagos

A 58-year-old man (name unknown) embarking on a spiritual fasting has been confirmed dead in the Alagbado area of Lagos State.

His demise was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

Hundeyin said the incident occurred at about 6 a.m. in the Alagbado area of Lagos on Monday, August 19.

He disclosed that the deceased younger brother, whose name was not also mentioned, reported the incident at the Alagbado Police Division at about 7 p.m. on Monday.

Court sends man to prison for defiling one-year-old girl

According to him, the younger brother said his brother died while undergoing 19 days dry fasting.

“No foul play suspected; family demands to convey the corpse for burial,” the police spokesperson added.
