Manchester United have begun selling preserved sections of the Old Trafford pitch to supporters, offering fans the chance to own a piece of the stadium’s playing surface.
Each 7x7cm section of turf is being sold for £125, according to BBC Sport.
The first batch, preserved inside glass cubes and placed in a black presentation case, has already sold out.
The club described the memorabilia as a “priceless memento” of the matches played at Old Trafford, which has been Manchester United’s home for more than a century.
The pitch was removed during the summer and stripped back to its foundation for the first time in 14 years.
United preserved portions of the old surface as souvenirs, allowing supporters to own a small piece of the ground that has hosted generations of players and some of the club’s most significant matches.
The turf sale comes as United continues to deal with substantial financial commitments.
The club reported total debt of more than £1bn, despite recording a record revenue of £677.6m for the 2025-26 financial year.
United posted an operating profit of £22.6m for the year but still recorded a pre-tax loss of £43m.
The club also confirmed that it had spent £63.5m acquiring land for a proposed new stadium, with the planned project expected to cost more than £2bn.
The redevelopment plans have added to the club’s long-term financial commitments as it considers the future of its stadium infrastructure.
For supporters, however, the preserved turf provides a more immediate connection to Old Trafford, allowing them to keep a physical reminder of the stadium’s history in their homes.
