Manchester City reject Barcelona offer for Rodri

Manchester City have rejected an initial offer from Barcelona for Spain midfielder Rodri.

City were said to have considered the offer far too low.

It remains to be seen whether Barcelona return with a higher offer, but their interest in signing Rodri remains.

Sources in Spain disclosed that Rodri prefers a move to Barcelona over Real Madrid.

City do not want to sell the Spain World Cup-winning captain and instead want to agree with him on a new contract.

Rodri approves Barcelona transfer talks with Man City

If Rodri asks to leave, however, then they would not stand in his way, according to Sky Sports.

As City assess their options for a replacement, Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez is considered as manager Enzo Maresca’s “dream” signing.

Fernandez was earlier reported as out of option City were looking to sign, however, as they have been looking to keep hold of Rodri.

The fluidity of the situation, therefore, means it remains to be seen whether circumstances change with regards to Fernandez, as City may look to bring in two players if Rodri joins the Spanish giants.
