Mateta’s transfer to AC Milan cancelled after player fails medical

Serie A side AC Milan’s move for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is off.

This is after Milan decided not to proceed with the transfer following further medical checks on Monday.

Juventus have been monitoring Milan’s deal for Mateta.

Another move by Juventus to take the player on loan with an option to buy cannot yet be ruled out before Monday’s deadline, according to Sky Sports.

However, Milan’s U-turn is not expected to have an impact on Jorgen Strand Larsen’s move to Palace as things stand.

As far as Strand Larsen and Wolves are concerned, the deal is proceeding as planned.

The Norway international completed his Palace medical on Monday ahead of a £48 million move from Wolves, as contracts have been being finalised for the striker.
